Life in a Day

It’s been a crazy few weeks and it seems getting back into the swing of it all has been harder on me than I thought. To be honest, I haven’t felt much excitement lately about the details of life at home with two kids.  Don’t worry, I’m fine. It’s just that whole there is beauty in the battles stuff is completely lost on me right now.

But the lovely Tiffany from Believe.Hope.Dream. inspired me to look at my life in a new way with her Life in a Day challenge. I’m not a great photographer, especially when my kids are all about. But yesterday, I made a point to take a picture once an hour. Yup, I set a timer, grabbed the camera and just captured what was right there in that moment.

I almost didn’t share it. I mean, the photos are blurry, and sometimes strange.  And I’ve never made a slide show before. But they are genuine. They are my life. And in the details of the gift of an ordinary day somehow it feels beautiful to me again. Thank you Tif. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. (p.s. there is music, so if you are somewhere you need quiet, don’t forget to mute your computer)

  1. I love this idea! Truly! I believe you may have just inspired me too! Your babes are absolutely beautiful and I absolutely love your ending statement. Very uplifting and encouraging… which I image we all need from time to time. :) Thank you for sharing your inspiration.

  2. Oh, my dear one! I just love how you captured your day. Moments of stillness. Moments of nourishment. Moments of chaos and activity. Moments of laughter. This is just wonderful. I am thrilled you chose to do this project. I know it was definitely a challenge, it was for me too. The weight of being home, running your indie business, and tending to the children and home matters. It’s funny, how to one’s self, it can seem rather ordinary. (*which I thought too about my day – without the children or Mr Bird at home right now, without the “chaos”, if felt my life is suddenly a bit “ordinary” too), but through those of us looking in from the outside, it’s utterly deliciously enchanting. Thank you for sharing! XO
